Growers Cooperation FresQ u.a. was founded on January 1, 2001 from a result of the merger between CTR and Quality Queen.

In 1997 the in 1995 established growersorganisation CTR took selling of the entire production in their own hands. It originated in an alternative market for auction-based system in the Netherlands. Quality Queen arose in 1996 when a group of entrepreneurs opted for independence. They left the auction and went to an alliance with a provider from the trade channel.
